Dear Alina! I still remember your heartbreaking, stunning performance at Sziget Festival back in 2022. It has stayed with me and I am

sure it has stayed with your audience, the security personnel and the media guys around you. You were strong, witty, charismatic, ironic, angry and vulnerable all at the same time. A woman is a thousand women, some say, and it is more than true about you.

Alongside with your musical performance you showed us photos of the war against your home, against the people of Ukraine. You showed us the photo of the bombed out maternity ward in Mariupol which became almost identical with the story of another photo of the mother would be Iryna Kalinina being caried away later to die from her injuries thirty minutes after giving birth to her stillborn son.

While making photos of you in the corner of my eye I caught site of an other photographer with grey, curly hear with tears in his eye as he tried to capture you. I looked around fighting back my own tears without much of a success and I saw some of the security personnel along with the audience shaken and …. and in tears too.

Dear Alina, you brought us to our knees. You pushed us to the ground and then elevated us high into euphoria.

You put us on an emotional rollercoaster and then left us on our own. Before crashing down from above you gently took us into your arms to cradle us before releasing us back to our everyday lives.

Through your music and artistic talent you introduced us the pain of the war, of loss, of hopelessness and the deepest trauma. Through your performance you elevated us from the ground and introduced us strength, determination, hope and unwavering love.

Alina Pash, Thank you!

Слава Україні!
